 Nur ud din Muhammad Salim Jahangir Period (1605 – 1627) :

Before his father's death, Selim jahangir Khan was surrounded by a sword and declared the ruler, but he failed his father's trust in him. No military success could be achieved during the 22-year rule of jahangir Khan, who was fond of pleasure and entertainment, and opened the way for the British colonists to enter the country and trade with many privileges, which would prepare the end of the Mughal Empire

The Safavid Empire, which started to gain strength during the reign of jahangir Khan, entered the city of Kandahar and jahangir Khan, who could not defend the city, lost Kandahar, one of the important border cities.

During the unsuccessful rule of jahangir Khan, the Indians, who had started to take charge in the palace, also started to increase their influence. jahangir Khan, who could not foresee the dangers that would arise with the rise of Indian state officials in the state organization, led to the weakening of the central authority with his shortsighted administration and inevitably fueled the ambitions of his sons, who were eager to reign, in the position of Khan. Struggles for the reign and succession conflicts, which started while jahangir Khan was still alive, caused the state to weaken completely and intrigues within the palace.

Increasing intrigues in the palace were also fueling the conflicts between the sons of jahangir khan's reign. Hürrem Shah, who came to the forefront as a result of the succession struggles manifested with intrigue and challenges, died unexpectedly while he was about to take over the sultanate. The other heirs of the sultanate awaited the death of jahangir Khan, and the eldest heir, Shah jahan, assumed the throne (1627).
