Sultan Ahmed II was born on February 25, 1643 in Istanbul. His father is Sultan Ibrahim I and his mother is Hatice Muazzez Sultan. Her mother was busy with her upbringing and education. He knew Arabic and Persian. He received a moderate education.He followed the affairs of the state very closely and attended the council meetings even if he was sick. When Sultan Ahmed II became the sultan, Köprülü Fazıl Mustafa Pasha was the grand vizier. In the last years of Sultan Süleyman the Second, Köprülü Fazıl Mustafa Pasha had achieved important military successes. Köprülü Fazıl Mustafa Pasha, who left Belgrade and crossed the Danube and marched towards Austria, wanted to strike a sudden blow to the enemy in Petervaradin without waiting for the Crimean forces. However, Köprülü Fazıl Mustafa Pasha, who was ambushed, was defeated in Salakamen and he was killed by being shot in the forehead.

 The advance and the struggle on the Austrian front thus ended. The war with Austria could not be concluded and the Ottoman raids stopped. The reform movements that Köprülü Fazıl Mustafa Pasha tried to do were abandoned after he died. Poland's aim was to capture Kamanice, the capital of the Podolia province, which was conquered by the Ottomans in 1672.However, Kahraman Pasha, who resisted the strong attacks of Poland, managed to protect the castle. Apart from this, successful resistances were made against the Venetians. The Euboean fortress was defended heroically and was prevented from falling into the hands of the Venetians. On the other hand, the castle of Chios was attacked by the Venetians.However, Chios Castle was conditionally handed over to the Venetians on September 21, 1695, despite all efforts. Sultan Ahmed II was very skilled in the art of calligraphy.

 Sultan Ahmed II, who had a very superior writing ability, wrote many Qurans. He was very fond of poets and poetry. After lasting 7 months and 14 days of reign, he could not get rid of the cirrhosis he was caught and died on 6 February 1695 in Edirne. His body was brought to Istanbul and buried in the Tomb of Suleiman the Magnificent.
